My name is Delissa Cooper and I am a Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW) in Kansas and Missouri.
I believe in the empowerment and recovery of all individuals. I utilize a positive person-centered therapeutic approach to meet my clients where they are, build rapport and help them identify goals to improve their quality of life.
With an emphasis on supporting clients with healing from past trauma. I believe it is important to shift our mindset from, "what's wrong with me...to what happened to me". By making this shift, we can understand the impacts of how our experiences shape our thoughts, feelings and actions. As well as Who we are, What we think about ourselves and our relationships with others at home, work or in the community.
As a graduate of the University of Kansas. I have been practicing as a Social Worker for over ten years. I have experience with working with a variety of diverse populations, within multiple settings. Some of which include; Child Welfare, Criminal Justice, Acute Psychiatric Inpatient Hospitalization, Outpatient Mental Health and Crisis Services.
Surviving is one thing, allow me to guide you in learning and practicing the skills you need to Thrive!
